With spring comes an influx of events, and, of course, Boston Marathon weekend kept our team busy. Alongside the Marathon’s festivities, we produced about twelve other events throughout the busy month. Let’s recap April 2024!
Running Together
Helping set the pace for the 128th Boston Marathon
Though the runners and barricades are gone, our adrenaline is still high from Boston Marathon weekend! For the 46th time, we helped organize the Boston Marathon Expo in partnership with the Boston Athletic Association from April 12–14. Filling the Hynes Convention Center for a three-day celebration of fitness and the running community, thousands of runners and their guests were able to touch, try, and purchase some of the latest and greatest products and services in the running industry.
We also helped produce three days of music and engagements at Boston Marathon Fan Fest at City Hall Plaza, the official post-race party at Boston Marathon Mile 27, and race-day sponsor activations along the 26.2 mile course. The Boston Marathon is one of the most exciting weekends of the year in the city, and we’re honored to have supported the B.A.A. in an array of areas.
A Little Dose of Hospitality
Working with HTM for its annual awards
The Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) at the UMass Amherst Isenberg School of Management hosted its HTM Awards at the Omni Seaport Hotel on April 2. We proudly offered full planning and production management for the event that celebrates the hospitality industry and the future professionals who will star within it. We are always impressed with the good work of HTM and the rising stars that matriculate from its programs.
Recognizing the Best of the Best
NACD New England Charpter’s Director of the Year Awards
NACD New England (NACD NE) gathered at Seaport Hotel on April 24 to recognize the leadership and accomplishments of corporate directors across New England. The event featured the 2024 Director of the Year Awards alongside speeches from esteemed guests such as Governor Maura Healey and Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development, Yvonne Hao. This year was the eleventh time that Conventures has worked with NACD NE, and we managed event registration, the venue, stage, speakers, and audio video support.
Getting Our Stretch On
Raising Funds for Boston Children’s Hospital
This past April 28 Boston Children’s Hospital again held Yoga Reaches Out, putting more meaning behind the “mountain pose” for hundreds of participants who back a morning of yoga with charitable giving.
The event attracted hundreds of participants from all experience levels to share in the excitement, raising crucial funds for the hospital’s Every Child Fund. These contributions are instrumental in supporting research to discover new treatments and cures, as well as providing essential care and support services to seriously ill children and their families.
Pitching in for our Parks
The Green & White gala shines bright
It was a beautiful Green & White evening on April 19th as Conventures assisted Friends of the Public Garden in hosting its annual Green & White gala at The Newbury Boston. The gala brought together more than 200 fundraisers to support the preservation and protection our nation’s first public park and botanical garden.
Walking for Change
Proud to support BARCC
It was a sunny day in East Boston for the annual BARCC Walk for Change! After two years in a row of gloomy weather, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center’s (BARCC) annual walk gathered nearly 500 guests for a day of community and philanthropy. With impactful speakers, food, and games, it was an impactful day to support this important cause. Conventures helped manage all of the planning and production for BARCC and is pleased to be partnered with such a great organization.
Annual Meetings that Deliver
Helping BMRB hit the mark
Conventures was honored to team up with The Boston Municipal Research Bureau (BMRB) to hold its 92nd annual meeting on April 11 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. Conventures helped 245 guests check in and get seated for an on-time speaking program and reception.
