Meet Conventures! Part of an ongoing blog series to introduce you to all the great people who make up our team. We hope you enjoy this opportunity to get to know us a bit better.

Posing with the B.A.A. Boston Marathon signWhen did you start working here? And B.C. (Before Conventures) — work, school?
I started working at Conventures in May 2023 right after I graduated from Wake Forest University where I studied Business & Enterprise Management and Spanish. In college, I was the Community Service & Events Coordinator for my sorority which made me realize this is what I want to pursue as a career!

What piece of advice would you give someone just starting out in events? Anything you wish you’d known?
My motto is it never hurts to ask! Ask if you’re unclear on an event detail, ask the event lead where you can be helpful, ask for feedback from those above you – and then make sure you internalize all the answers!

Making friends with an elephantProudest moment working at Conventures?
My proudest moment working at Conventures was this summer during the Boston Harborfest Pre-Fireworks Concert in Christopher Columbus Park. This was one of the first times in my career that I was the lead on an event and there were thousands of spectators. I kept looking around at all the smiling faces and being grateful to have a job where I get to provide so much joy!

If you could work at any major event in the world, which one would you choose and why?
I just rewatched America’s Next Top Model and now I think it would be so cool to be on the logistics side of Fashion Week.

What is the most important thing to have with you at an event?
I always have water and a GoMacro bar.

What is your most-used emoji?
The green check mark ✅ – I have so many lists in my notes app at all times and am constantly checking things off. Also the crying laughing emoji.

Young CaraWhat are you currently watching, listening to, or reading?
I don’t watch a ton of TV but this summer I was absolutely hooked on Love Island USA. My favorite things to listen to are podcasts – usually about health and wellness, I am a total nerd about that stuff and they keep me entertained on my walk from the North End to work each morning. Finally, I try to rotate between reading mystery/thriller books, romance novels, and historical fiction so I never get bored.

If you could switch places with one person who would it be?
Right now I would say one of the Olympic athletes! I want to know what it feels like to move that fast or be that flexible.

And finally, give us one of your pre-event hype up songs… please.
When in doubt, Top Hits of 2014 on Spotify has never failed me. Middle school was a good time!
